About Us

The Gymea Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Centre was established in 1983 by Garry and Christine Morgan. The President Physiotherapy brand was born after a move to our new location in Miranda in early 2008.

Our physiotherapists have been providing services to the community, local sporting teams, recreational and elite athletes for over 32 years. All our treatment consultations are one-on-one 30 minute sessions, so you can be assured that during your appointment time you will have our total focus. We also work in conjunction with trainers, Doctors and other health professionals to get you back on track in the shortest possible time.

Our belief is that you can never stop learning. Everyone’s body is different, and this is why treatments need to be adjusted on an individual level, this is also why our patients are our biggest teachers and we learn from working with you every day. We are constantly striving to improve ourselves as therapists whether it is through staying up to date with the current literature, attending workshops, brainstorming as a team and putting ourselves through rigorous training phases to find the optimal treatments strategies to help you achieve your best body.

Our Services

If you’re not assessing you’re guessing. In our initial assessment we perform a thorough examination to help us determine the biomechanical causes of your injury and provide you with an accurate diagnosis. Performing regular assessments in follow up consultations keeps us outcome based and allows us to provide you with the most effective treatment strategies to achieve the results you want.

We are not your average physio’s and our team is passionate about providing you with the most effective treatment strategies. We combine effective manual therapy techniques with a progressive exercise program to get you back on track in the fastest way possible. Our treatments are not only evidence based but we incorporate clinical skills that have been learnt and developed through over 30 years of experience working with thousands of different bodies, athletes and injuries.

Prevention involves identifying limiting factors that increase the risk of developing injuries or ailments in the future. This can take many forms including ensuring adequate recovery, correcting biomechanical inefficiencies and following a progressive exercise program, all of which our staff are skilled at identifying and passionate about implementing.

Strength & Conditioning

Whether you are looking at taking your rehabilitation from an injury through to the next phase, you want to improve your body composition, increase strength or gain muscle, our Exercise Physiologists can help you achieve your goals with an individually designed and periodised program. Our staff adopt a science based approach which is customized to your lifestyle. And, importantly, we also practice what we preach!

Our screening process is designed for the recreational athlete who is looking at beginning a gym based program or joining a sporting team and wants to minimize their risk of injury and optimize the way they are moving. Our movement screen is also designed for competitive athletes who are entering a competitive season or beginning a heavy training cycle and are looking to minimize their risk of injury. Our one hour screen incorporates multiple movement and physiotherapy based assessments primarily looking for faulty patterns of movements and asymmetry. Once identified, these weaknesses are then targeted to make them your strong points!
